My new book NEVER A DULL MOMENT is out now. Please look into it. I believe it will inspire and bless your heart.
Howdy folks. I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Glenn Adkins. My ministry is called THE LORD'S TRUMPET, because I trumpet out the good news of God's love and the gospel message through singing.
I have been doing outreach street ministry for over 40 years. Starting in Oxnard, Ca, to Bakersfield, CA, to Haight-Ashbury, then Topanga Canyon where I pastored from 1972 until 1986. During the time in Topanga, I ministered to many popular musicians, singers, and actors.
I began going into the bars and nightclubs to be a witness at that time, and sometimes I was asked to sing Amazing Grace in some of the clubs. We also ministered to many who were shattered by broken dreams and all kinds of abuse and addictions.
From Topanga I began ministering in Hollywood and Los Angeles Skidrow, which I still do presently. In the early seventies I began to incorporate singing gospel songs on the streets to brake the ice with people passing by, as I offer them gospel tracts. God has given me a powerful operatic voice which has been heard for several blocks away on Hollywood Blvd.
During those years I often took members of our church, The Topanga Community Church, to do the outreach ministry. Venice Beach, Hollywood and L.A, Skidrow were ongoing outreaches.
Also, from Topanga, I ministered in Washington D.C. twice, and once in New York city with my wife Frankie, and a small group of young people from Youth With A Mission.
Since then we make our home base in Big Bear Lake, CA, where I continue the outreach street ministry, and have conducted outreaches to many parts of California, especially Hollywood, L.A. Skidrow, and California Beach areas, and Las Vegas.
We have five children, all grown now, four daughters and one son, and are blessed with twelve grandchildren and one great grandaughter. I am excited about finally getting my new book out, Never A Dull Moment, with a subtitle Taking Light Into The Darkness, which is a collection of exciting stories of our many challenges and ministry experiences. I believe the book will bring hope and vision to those bound by fear, by breaking out of the bondages that keep them from boldly sharing the love of Jesus and the message of the gospel to those outside of the church walls.
